A Few of My Favorite Drawings

I have decided to post a few of my favorite drawings today. You may say, "Not another post not about writing!" if you wish, but I would disagree. When you draw, external stimuli enter the brain through eyes, ears, skin, nose, and mouth (plus any other senses you might possess), are processed by the brain over time, and emerge from the hands (or mouth or foot) via an output device such as a pencil, pen, paint brush, or other medium. Writing requires the same process, except nowadays the output device is typically a computer keyboard (although Thomas Wolfe (Look Homeward, Angel) wrote all of his massive novels using a #2 pencil). With this explanation in mind, I offer you the following drawings, all accomplished with the senses, brain, hand, and a graphite pencil.

Baseball Glove
Charge of the Scots Greys at Waterloo, from
a painting by Lady Butler
California Coast, Circa 1970
World War I Submarine
Sailboat, Circa 1976
